What's next is even more exciting
I hope you had a beautiful June - July - August. What did you get up to?
The last time we spoke here was before all of that. So much has happened since, but what’s next is even more exciting.
Over here, I really needed that time to breathe a bit more. I do a lot and also hear “wait how are you balancing everything!?!” a lot, and well, I don’t. But I take time off.
I have a lot of updates for you from my world.
Matecki Studios
As you saw, I took this summer off from everything that I put out for Matecki Studios — this newsletter (hi), Texts from Jenna (aka: join my focus group for poems as I write them), and Postcards from Jenna (aka: get gorgeous, artful postcards from me in your actual mailbox) and my writing. This was necessary to also mentally prepare myself for the second edition of The Hours Before Dusk that is launching on Oct 17th in bookstores like Barnes and Noble, Target, Walmart, and also really rad indie bookstores like Miami’s Dale Zine, Sonoma’s Copperfield’s Books, Phoenix’s Palabras, and many, many more.
If you’d like to support my writing while I’m still alive and not a dead poet, and help build a world in which your friend’s books are actually on the shelves at Barnes and Noble, preorder a copy now and/or buy one for a friend. These preorders right now are critical to signal to these retailers to continue to stock it, so that we can go strong in the holiday season.
You can also reply and let me know if you want one of these t-shirts and I’ll produce them and keep a percentage of the cut (you know I’m serious).
Be a dead poet with me? :D
A place to stay for inspiration, serenity, and exploration
This summer I also focused on a very real dream of mine: building a creative and sustainable guesthouse hotel brand. This included lots of homework for my Global Hospitality Executive MBA with Les Roches. I went on a trip to Dubai for that MBA in July to study some of the world’s top hotels and I came back inspired and filled with strategies and tactics for how to take the way that I see the world — everything I’ve learned from all the travel I’ve done and all the cool creative friends I’ve made while living in different cities around the world — and quite literally bring it all to life for as many people as possible.
This is closing the loop:
read - be inspired - travel - fundamentally change how you view the world.
If you want to help me in a big way with making this all a reality, I’m still collecting responses for my thesis on travel experiences, fill out this form + sign and send me the waiver? Massive thanks to those of you who did this already. It’s so fun to read your responses.
More on this all very soon. :D

I think that’s it. I think I didn’t miss anything.
If I did, you’re still hearing from me next week.
I’m back. Hi. Thank you for being on my team and for being you.
As always, I couldn’t do any of this without you.
Jenna
